Living a happier life is possible when you tap into the power of childhood joy. Kids have more fun.


As adults, we often find ourselves bogged down with responsibilities and obligations. We forget the joy that comes with simply having fun and playing. Children, on the other hand, seem to always be having a good time. Whether it's on play dates with friends or simply exploring the world around them, kids know how to enjoy life. Kids don't sweat the small stuff.


Kids have an innate ability to not worry about the small things in life. They live in the moment and find joy in even the smallest things. Adults, on the other hand, tend to get bogged down by the smallest problems and worries, which can greatly affect our happiness.


But, what if we could learn from children and adopt this same attitude? We could learn to let go of the things that don't really matter and focus on the things that truly make us happy.


If we could say goodbye to our worries and embrace a more carefree attitude towards life, we could experience a level of happiness that we may have forgotten was even possible.


Kids play more.


One of the key traits of kids that we adults could learn from is their tendency to play more. Children are always looking for ways to have fun and enjoy themselves, whether it's playing with toys, running around outside, or spending time with their friends. As we grow older, we often lose sight of the importance of play in our lives. We become so focused on work, responsibilities, and the stresses of daily life that we forget to have fun.


But if we want to be happier and more fulfilled in life, we need to rediscover the joy of play. This means making time for activities that bring us pleasure and letting go of our worries and obligations, even if only for an hour or two.


One way to incorporate more play into your life is to schedule regular play dates with your friends or family. This can be as simple as meeting up for a game of catch or going to the park together. Not only will you have fun, but you'll also strengthen your social connections and improve your overall well-being.


Another way to embrace play is to cultivate a sense of childlike wonder in your daily life. Look for opportunities that pique curiosity and explore the world around you, whether it's by trying a new hobby, visiting a new place, or simply taking a different route on your daily commute. Kids find wonder around them.


One of the greatest joys of being a kid is the ability to see the world with a sense of childlike wonder. Kids have the ability to find joy in even the most mundane things. They're amazed by the way ants crawl along the ground, they're fascinated by the patterns of the clouds in the sky, and they can spend hours playing with a cardboard box. As adults, we can learn a lot from this sense of wonder.


To tap into this mindset of childlike awe, start by taking a closer look at the world around you. When you're walking to work or running errands, try to notice the small details that you may normally overlook. Pay attention to the way the sunlight reflects off of the buildings or the sound of the wind rustling through the trees.


As adults, we tend to be so focused on work and responsibilities that we neglect to see what’s happening outside of our computer screen or Zoom meetings. By finding wonder around you and making time for play, you'll be able to tap into that childlike joy and live a happier, more fulfilling life.


Kids move more.


As adults, we tend to spend more time sitting at desks or in front of screens than we do moving our bodies. We've forgotten how to play and explore the world around us with physical movement.


Kids, on the other hand, are always on the go. They run, jump, climb, and play all day long. They don't need a gym membership or fancy equipment to stay active and healthy.


We can learn a lot from this childlike approach to movement. Instead of viewing exercise as a chore or a way to lose weight, we can see it as an opportunity to have fun and explore the world around us.


Here are some ideas for incorporating more movement into your daily life:

  • Take a walk outside and notice the beauty of nature around you

  • Have a dance party in your living room

  • Try a new sport or physical activity that you've always been curious about

  • Play tag with your friends or family members

  • Jump on a trampoline or bounce on a yoga ball

  • Draw a hopscotch grid on your sidewalk and skip your way to happiness

The key is to find activities that you enjoy and that feel playful and fun. By moving your body more, you'll not only be improving your physical health, but also your mental and emotional well-being. You'll feel more energized, more confident, and more connected to the world around you.


So go ahead, do a cartwheel or a somersault. Buy that vintage pink Schwinn Stingray with the banana seat and flowered basket you've been reminiscing about. Play with your kids or your dog. Move your body and have fun, just like you did when you were 6 or 7 or 8. You'll be amazed at how much happier and healthier you'll feel.
